New Gallery of Modern Art: Shine A Light When It's Gray Out, a new series from Stephen Wilson with more than 25 works in a multitude of sizes and shapes that combine his characteristic embroidery techniques with oil painting. Opening reception is 6-8 p.m. March 2. Coffee & Conversation with the artist is 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. March 3. The exhibit is on view through April 7. Southern Spring Home & Garden Show: March 2-4 at The Park Expo and Conference Center, 800 Briar Creek Road. This annual event takes place over two weekends and features hundreds of experts in remodeling, decor and more. Dancing With The Stars Of Charlotte Gala: The theme is the Most Incredible Gala, inspired by Charlotte Ballet’s premiere of The Most Incredible Thing. Local stars from some of Charlotte’s most esteemed corporations are paired with the professional dancers of Charlotte Ballet to raise funds for the ballet company and each star’s chosen charity. Gala chairs are Drs. Florence and Edward Kim. The dance pairs will compete for two awards – People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice. The People’s Choice title will be awarded for most funds raised and Judges’ Choice for the top score received from the judges. March 3 at Knight Theater.
