ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE & CHARLOTTE GOES GREEN FESTIVAL: Thousands of spectators will line the streets during this 23rd annual parade on March 16 uptown. It starts at 11 a.m. at North Tryon and 9th streets, then marches south to 3rd Street where it takes a left and ends at Caldwell Street. It featured floats, pipe bands, drill teams and more. The Grand Marshal is Peter Byrne, president of the nonprofit Charlotte Irish Connection. It’s followed by a family-friendly festival with Irish music, dancers and food plus Celtic vendors. Free.
